The nonprofit research firm acquired its AMIC stake by converting a bond that was issued for partial consideration of medical research at the government-run Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, Battelle said Monday.
Washington-based AMIC is seeking approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to market its Y-90 RadioGel medical device.
Battelle and AMIC entered into patent licensing agreements in 2011 and 2012 for brachytherapy systems.
