The team will design the enterprise air surveillance radar to work on multiple ship classes and to incorporate a Raytheon-made radar module used in air and missile defense platforms, the company said said Wednesday.
“It is clear that the Navy is committed to leveraging the latest in technology and innovation to stay ahead of evolving threats, ” said Paul Ferraro, vice president of advanced technology programs at Raytheon’s integrated defense systems business.
“The next generation EASR radar program is the latest example of Raytheon’s partnership with ONR to drive advancement and provide affordable best in class solutions, ” Ferraro added.
Raytheon has worked with the Navy to equip the branch’s fleet with long-range air search radar and dual-band radar systems.
