Oz Garcia, former Harris CapRock Communications vice president for intelligence programs, has been named senior director of government business development at Globecomm Systems Inc.,  GovCon Wire has learned.

The 25-year Air Force and Air Force Reserves veteran was responsible for intelligence community sales at CapRock and also oversaw facility and operations at the Hanover Md. office.

“When you’re serving the intelligence community, it’s really important to have people that have an understanding of the individual agencies. Each one is very unique just like each military service is unique, ” he told ExecutiveBiz in 2012.

Garcia is also a 14-year National Security Agency veteran and served on the Headquarters Air Staff at the Pentagon.

“The intelligence community is always a difficult market, mainly because of the nature of what we sell – primarily tactical services that fit more into the war fighter’s realm, not necessarily into the intelligence community mission, ” Garcia added.
