Air Force Picks 12 Firms for $3B R&D Support IDIQ


researchTwelve companies will compete for task orders to perform technical area tasks in support of research and development work for the U.S. Air Force under a potential five-year, $3 billion contract.

The Defense Department said Thursday that contractors will provide research, development, test and evaluation, and advisory and assistance services to the Air Force under the Defense Systems Technical Area Tasks program.

Contract work will occur over a one-year base period and could extend for up to four additional option years.

  • Georgia Tech Research Institute

  • ManTech TSG-2 Joint Venture

  • Strategic Analysis Inc.
  • TASC
  • URS Federal Services
  • Wyle Laboratories

The Pentagon lists the contract’s focus areas as including advanced materials; autonomous systems; directed energy; energetics; military sensing; non-lethal weapons and information operations; reliability, maintainability, quality, supportability, and interoperability.
