Mike Twyman: Northrop to Update DISA’s C2 Software

northrop Grumman_BLUENorthrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) will continue upgrade and sustainment work on a system that U.S. military agencies use for joint and multinational operations under a $53 million contract extension.

This award exercises an option on a contract Northrop holds with the Defense Information Systems Agency for the Global Command and Control System-Joint modernization project, Northrop said Wednesday.

DISA manages the GCCS-J program under the agency’s Encore II contract vehicle.

Mike Twyman, vice president and general manager for the defense systems division at Northrop Grumman Information Systems, said the business will help DISA update software for the agency’s joint C2 data fabric architecture.

The company has configured GCCS-J modules to facilitate information sharing and build up the system’s cybersecurity posture.

Northrop says it achieved the Capability Maturity Model Integration Level 5 rating and AS9100 recertification for the DISA program.
