Defense Information Systems AgencyThe Defense Information Systems Agency has deployed the DoD Mobility Capability 2.0 release supporting Android/Samsung Knox platforms on May 9, as part of the DoD Mobility Unclassified Capability program.

DISA said Wednesday that it wants the implementation to boost mobile capability for the military while leveraging a mobile device management system to secure devices for Defense Department network access.

Mission partners will be able to use Android OS 4.4 on the Samsung Galaxy S4 device and access the DoD Mobility Application Store containing 19 tested and approved applications, DISA says.

The release also is intended to enable “For Official Use Only” access to Defense Enterprise Email, calendars and contacts.
