Defense Department Seeks Proposals for New Retiree Pay System

PentagonThe Defense Department wants to replace its legacy retiree pay system with an off-the-shelf application for the Defense Finance and Accounting Service, Nextgov reported Tuesday.

Bob Brewin writes the Defense Logistics Agency has issued a request for proposals in search of vendors to develop a new Defense Retiree and Annuitant Pay System.

Brewin reports that DLA wants interested companies to meet Business Capability Lifecycle requirements for defense business systems planning, upgrade, deployment, operations and maintenance.

The selected vendor will work to build a new architecture, develop interfaces and migrate data to the new system, the report says.

Brewin writes DLA has asked interested vendors to submit their proposals by June 4.

DoD is also accepting proposals from contractors to maintain the military’s electronic health record system as part of the Pentagon’s push to create an interoperable EHR setup with the Department of Veterans Affairs.
