Shelly Gotman to Head Lockheed’s Israel Tech Sector Managing Director


lockheed martinShelly Gotman, a retired Israeli air force pilot, has joined Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) as managing director of the company’s technology sector in Israel, the Jerusalem Post reported Wednesday.

Yaakov Lappin writes the former F-16 pilot will work to help Lockheed capture new programs, collaborate with academic institutions in technological research and develop investment plans in Israel.

Gotman held senior command and leadership roles in Israel’s air force and most recently served as a brigadier general before retiring in 2009 after 27 years of service, according to the report.

Lockheed will deliver 19 F-35 fighter planes to Israel in 2016 and a Super Hercules C130 J transport aircraft fleet at an unspecified time, according to the Jerusalem Post.
