Rockwell Collins, Chinese Avionics Firm Launch JV; Kelly Ortberg Comments


Avionics Grand OpeningRockwell Collins (NYSE: COL) and China Electronics Technology Avionics Company thave launched a new Chengdu-based joint venture to bring communication and navigation products to aircraft programs in China.

“This joint venture is yet another demonstration of the collaborative and cooperative relationships we continue to build in China to support the rapidly growing opportunities in the region, “ Kelly Ortberg,  Rockwell Collins CEO and president,  said Wednesday.

The Rockwell Collins CETC Avionics Company is the Cedar Rapids, Iowa-based aviation technology maker’s second joint venture in China to support aircraft development programs.

CETCA Chairman Zuo Qunsheng said RCCAC will assemble the communications and navigation system for the Comac C919 aircraft.
