Robert Salmon, formerly executive vice president of worldwide field operations at NetApp (NASDAQ: NTAP), has been promoted to president and head of the company’s new go-to-market operations unit.
The company said Monday the GTM operations organization has three functions in areas such as field operations, global marketing and customer success operations.
Salmon started at NetApp in 1994 as a member of the sales organization and has led the worldwide field operations since 2004.
NetApp says he helped the company develop its customer segmentation and selling model.
A computer science graduate of California State University in Chico, Salmon also worked at Sun Microsystems and Data General Corporation prior to joining NetApp.
