IBM to Pump $100M in Global Big Data Labs


IBMIBM Corp. (NYSE: IBM) is investing more than $100 million in new big data consulting laboratories across several locations worldwide, Asian Scientist Magazine reported Wednesday.

The 10 new IBM interactive experience labs will be built in Bangalore, Beijing, Melbourne, Shanghai and Tokyo, according to the report.

IBM intends to open at least 1, 000 new big data consulting jobs at the sites, the report says.

Company researchers and developers will work to build data-driven technologies intended to help enterprises engage with customers, the magazine reports.
