Harris CEO William Brown Adds Board Chairman Title

Harris w-BorderWilliam Brown, president and CEO of Harris Corp. (NYSE: HRS) since November 2011, has been appointed to succeed Thomas Dattilo as chairman of the board.

The board’s independent directors have also named Dattilo as a lead independent director after a review of the board’s governance structure, Brown said Friday.

Dattilo became non-executive chairman in January 2012 and has held a position on Harris’ board since August 2001.

He also serves as chairman of the management development and compensation committee and as a member of the audit committee.
