
He will officially start the role on April 28 and succeed John Gannon, who will depart for a senior advisory position within the U.S. government, GDEFÂ said Friday.
“(Spoehel) has a deep understanding of our sectors, and as such is very well placed to support the GDEF mission, ” said Damian Perl, chairman of the board.
Spoehel has worked within the national security and technology segments before with stints in the private and public sectors.
He served as director, executive vice president and CFO at ManTech International (NASDAQ: MANT) and ICx Technologies.
Spoehel has also held executive roles at Harris Corp. (NYSE: HRS) and ICF Kaiser International.
He is a current board member at Profire Energy.
