Bradford Seamon, chief administrative officer for Prince George’s County in Maryland, will leave public service by the end of April and return to the private sector, the Washington Post reported Sunday.

Arelis Hernandez writes that Seamon plans return to managing Seamon Corp., the federal contracting company he co-owns with his wife.

Seamon held his role in the county government for three years and worked with County Executive Rushern Baker to drive economic development in the county, Hernandez reports.

“It’s really like running a 6, 000-person company, ” Seamon said of his position, according to the report.

Seamon will help the county identify a successor as Baker prepares to run for a second term in June, the Post reports.
