General Dynamics to Maintain USS Minnesota Submarine for $57M

general dynamics logoA General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) subsidiary will perform maintenance and repair work on the USS Minnesota attack submarine under a $57.2 million contract awarded by the U.S. Navy.

General Dynamics Electric Boat will perform post-shakedown availability testing, repairs and other technical work on the Virginia-class vessel, the company said Tuesday.

Work will occur at the subsidiary’s shipyard in Groton, Conn. and is scheduled to finish in February 2015.

Up to 600 employees will be involved in the work, General Dynamics said.
