Rupert Soames, currently chief executive at Scotland-based power generation company Aggreko, will join international government services contractor Serco Group as chief executive on June 1.

Interim Chief Executive Ed Casey will continue to lead the company until that date and Soames will also join Serco’s board, the company said Friday.

Soames has led Aggreko since 2003 and also serves as senior independent director at support services company Electrocomponents.

Before Aggreko, Soames led Misys Group’s banking and securities division, an organization that represented half of Misys’ overall revenue, according to Serco.

He also held leadership roles at GEC, including divisional managing director, and served as executive director for operations at Avery Berkel UK Ltd.
