Peter Oosterveer, formerly president of Fluor Corp.’s (NYSE: FLR) energy and chemicals group, has been promoted to chief operating officer at the Irving, Texas-based energy and construction services contractor.
He will lead the company’s commercial business lines and Fluor will create a new organization based on its work in commercial markets, Fluor said Monday.
David Seaton, Fluor chairman and CEO, said Oosterveer is a 25-year veteran of the company and brings experience in building client relationships to his new role.
Oosterveer will also be responsible for integrating and moving forward Fluor’s direct-hire construction, fabrication and modularization offerings.
Fluor’s government business will continue to report directly to Seaton and the company will report financial results through its current segments.
