Lockheed Taps Selex ES to Help Test, Install Future NATO HQ Network

NATO_flagsLockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has awarded a potential eight-year subcontract to a Finmeccanica subsidiary for testing and accreditation work on the network infrastructure for NATO’s future headquarters in Brussels, Belgium.

Selex ES will help Lockheed go through NATO’s security accreditation process and help install new systems for wireless voice and data communications, Selex ES said Thursday.

NATO also is acquiring Internet Protocol television services from the Lockheed-led team, which includes four other companies and Selex (click here to read our previous coverage).

The multinational alliance started constructing its headquarters in October 2010 and has targeted the completion date for early 2016, the NATO says.
