Linda Hudson Joins Energy Firm Southern Company’s Board of Directors

Linda Hudson, former president and CEO of BAE Systems‘ U.S. subsidiary, has been elected to the board of directors at energy firm Southern Company (NYSE: SO) and will continue to serve as an adviser and external director at BAE Systems Inc.

Hudson led the subsidiary’s armament and technical products unit before becoming chief executive and is also a former vice president at General Dynamics (NYSE: GD).

Southern Company is based in Atlanta and provides electricity to the U.S. Southeast region.

She is a recipient of several awards and recognitions, such as Fortune Magazine’s 50 Most Powerful Women in Business, the Association of the U.S. Army’s Dixon Award in 2013 and the Washington Business Hall of Fame.

Hudson graduated with a system engineering degree from the University of Florida and received an honorary engineering doctorate from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
