General Dynamics Subsidiary Inks Swiss Army Carrier Order; Robert Kauth Comments

general dynamics logoA subsidiary of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) will deliver armored carriers to the Swiss army starting next year, following an order for the same vehicles four years ago, Defense World reported Thursday.

General Dynamics European Land Systems will provide the Swiss with 130 DURO GMTF Armoured Personnel Carriers between 2015 and 2017, according to the report.

GDELS completed a delivery of 290 DURO GMTF carriers to Switzerland between 2008 and 2010.

The carriers are built to house 11 soldiers and protect against mines and improvised explosive devices, Defense World reports.

The ‘General Dynamics European Land Systems-Mowag workforce’ will execute the follow-on work, according to Robert Kauth,  Managing Director of GDELS-Mowag and vice president of wheeled vehicles at General Dynamics European Land Systems.
