Don Chavez, currently counsel for Northrop Grumman‘s (NYSE: NOC) navigation and maritime systems division, has been promoted to the roles of vice president, associate general counsel and sector counsel for the technical services sector.
The 23-year company veteran will start in the new position on March 22 and provide counsel to Sector President Christopher Jones and senior staff, Northrop said Wednesday.
Sheila Cheston, corporate vice president and general counsel at Northrop, said Chavez has provided legal advice and leadership to the aerospace systems and electronic systems sectors during his Northrop career.
Chavez will report to Cheston and provide legal advice to the technical services sector’s sites programs and subsidiaries.
He will also oversee legal matters regarding government and commercial transactions, business development, investigations, environmental, intellectual property, employment and compliance.
Prior to joining Northrop, Chavez served as a general counsel at Thales Avionics.
