CNSI will continue providing telecommunications services to the Los Alamos National Laboratory under a new potential three-year contract awarded in September 2013.

The company was originally selected for the program in 2008 and operates the laboratory’s switching and distribution facilities, CNSI said Monday.

New contract work will include helping the laboratory shift to Voice over Internet Protocol technology.

“Los Alamos National Laboratory is widely recognized as a backbone to our nation’s research, science and national security and CNSI’s continuing efforts will assist in positioning LANL as one of the most secure and efficient facilities in the world, ” said Adnan Ahmed, CNSI’s president.

CNSI signed the contract with Los Alamos National Security LLC, the business that operates the laboratory for the Energy Department and National Nuclear Security Administration.

LANS nominated CNSI for the Energy Department’s Small Business of the Year award in 2011 and 2012.
