An Inmarsat Plc subsidiary will act as a value added reseller of the parent company’s Global Xpress satellite communications offering to U.S. government customers.
Inmarsat Government will build and maintain that technology and provide bandwidth leases on the GX system, Inmarsat said Thursday.
Susan Miller, Inmarsat Government president and CEO, 
said the subsidiary intends for the Global Xpress offering to help government clients carry out airborne, maritime and land operations.
The subsidiary will offer subscription services covering data rates and contention ratios for global, regional and custom areas.
Inmarsat’s government partners can also develop systems to comply with the Defense Department’s requirements through Global Xpress, the company says.
