Report: Google Buys Artificial Intell Firm DeepMind for $400M

acquisitionGoogle Inc. (NASDAQ: GOOG) has acquired artificial intelligence company DeepMind for $400 million in an effort to grow its machine learning technology, CNET reported Sunday.

Steven Musil writes DeepMind develops algorithms for various applications such as simulations, e-commerce and games by gathering techniques from machine learning systems.

Google CEO Larry Page led the transaction, according to the report.

Google recently opened a new lab at NASA‘s Ames Research Center where researchers develop their projects using a quantum computer.
