Orange Business Services Buys Cyber Defense Firm Atheos; Thierry Bonhomme Comments

acquisitionOrange Business Services has acquired France-based identity and security management software provider Atheos as Orange looks to grow its global cybersecurity market footprint.

Atheos was founded in 2002 and works with government organizations and other enterprise clients to design and implement measures for securing critical infrastructures, Orange said Monday.

Thierry Bonhomme, Orange senior executive vice president, said the company aims to build up a portfolio of multi-dimensional digital protection tools through the acquisition.

Orange also seeks to bolster its enterprise cyber defense offerings by adding technology intended to prevent data losses and analyze network vulnerabilities, the company says.

The company has customers in more than 200 countries and territories worldwide.
