Army to Create Single IT Support, C4ISR Services Vehicle

ArmyLandThe U.S. Army plans to create a new contract vehicle that merges the services of two existing programs as part of the branch’s strategic consolidation efforts, the Washington Post reported Friday.

Ashley Bergander, research manager at market analyst Deltek,  writes the streamlined version will be open to contractors looking to provide government agencies with support for information technology systems and C4ISR (command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance).

One contract, the $30 billion Strategic Services Sourcing vehicle, caters to research and development, deployment and maintenance work.

The $16.4 R2 4G contract covers support for engineering, logistics and business operations.
