Alan Kessler: Vormetric Expands Client Base, Security Products Amid Heightened Market Awareness

Alan Kessler VormetricVormetric leveraged growing awareness for security-related products to mark 2013 with an increased client base and earnings growth that exceeded market expectations, said Alan Kessler, president and CEO with the data security solutions company.

The company now works with 1, 300 customers around the world, a 30 percent year-over-year increase, and Kessler attributes the growth to customers realizing they should prevent data breaches by addressing issues with systems and threats.

Organizations are realizing that “traditional perimeter and end point security is leaving them vulnerable to new attacks, and at risk for loss of protected data, ” Kessler said Wednesday.

The San Jose, Calif.-based firm has added new cloud-based data protection products and security information and event management tools for big data applications to the company’s portfolio.

Vormetric says it exceeded Gartner’s projections of 9-to-11 percent security infrastructure market growth in 2013.
