Robert Perna Joins Rockwell Collins as SVP, General Counsel, Secretary; Kelly Ortberg Comments

Robert Perna, a 25-year legal veteran, has been named senior vice president, general counsel and secretary at Rockwell Collins (NYSE: COL).

His appointment is effective Jan. 13 and he succeeds Gary Chadlick, who is leaving the company to pursue other interests, Rockwell Collins announced Wednesday.

“Bob’s global perspective and acquisition experience will be especially beneficial as we actively pursue our long-term global growth strategy, ” said Kelly Ortberg, Rockwell Collins president and CEO.

Before joining Rockwell Collins, Perna served in the same posts at AM Castle & Co. and has also held in-house counsel roles at General Electric‘s (NYSE: GE) capital rail services subsidiary, Navistar International (NYSE: NAV) and CNH Global.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from Penn State and his juris doctorate from George Washington University.
