Raytheon to Build Army Electronic Warfare Planning, Management Tool

Raytheon logoRaytheon (NYSE: RTN) has won a potential five-year,  $97, 850, 000 contract to design and build a tool for the U.S. Army to plan and manage electronic warfare.

Six bids were received by the Army Contracting Command’s office in Aberdeen, Md. for the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract via an Internet solicitation, the Defense Department said Monday.

The Army intends for the Electronic Warfare Planning and Management Tool software program to help commanders of brigade combat teams synchronize air and ground electromagnetic spectrum operations in order to gain an advantage within that spectrum, according to FedBizOpps.

Other planned functions of EWPMT include production of electronic warfare orders and estimates, lethal and non-lethal fires support and battle damage assessments.

Raytheon is also installing electronic warfare kits on Iraq’s fleet of F-16 jets under a subcontract from Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT).
