DRS to Refresh Navy Vessel Repair Equipment; Patrick Marion Comments

DRS Technologies w-borderA DRS Technologies business unit has won a five-year contract worth up to $22 million to update repair station consoles on U.S. Navy guided missile destroyers.

Laurel Technologies offer engineering services and support, spare components and RSC-related training to the Navy for the DDG 51-class vessels under an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, DRS said Tuesday.

Patrick Marion, DRS vice president and general manager of maritime systems and services, said the company has supplied DDG platform display consoles and support to the Navy for several decades.

RSC systems are designed to integrate and automate shipboard damage control communications to help battle-damaged ships survive.

The company is scheduled to complete work by September 2018 and will service various U.S. and overseas ship homeports.
