Tom Nixon, senior vice president of SRA International‘s health group since June, has been promoted to executive VP and chief growth officer at the Fairfax, Va.-based technology services contractor.
Nixon will continue to lead the health group on an acting basis and work to grow SRA’s pipeline of new business in his new role, the company said Thursday.
Bill Ballhaus, SRA president and CEO, said Nixon brings 25 years of federal contracting experience to the position.
As health group lead, Nixon oversees the company’s work for agencies such as the departments of Veterans Affairs and Health and Human Services, including several agencies within HHS.
SRA’s clients within HHS include the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, the National Institutes of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Nixon joined SRA in 2012 after serving as VP of marketing and business development for the defense solutions group at Science Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAI).
He also served as SVP and general manager of BTG’s technology systems division.
