Ruston Vickers Named CA Technologies Chief DevOps Architect; Shridhar Mittal Comments

CA technologiesRuston Vickers will serve as chief DevOps architect at CA Technologies (NASDAQ: CA) and work with clients to develop strategies for delivering software and services to market.

Vickers will work to expand CA’s DevOps engagements on an international scale and implement DevOps products such as Release Automation, CA LISA Service Virtualization and Pathfinder, CA said Monday.

Shridhar Mittal, general manager of application delivery at CA, said Vickers’ will use his experience and knowledge in the field to work with clients on application development and delivery.

CA intends for its DevOps program to build up collaboration between application developers and those that deploy the apps to the market.

Vickers was part of the group at ITKO that helped launch service virtualization for enterprise systems before CA bought the company in 2011.

CA credits Vickers with introducing LISA to the distributed application market in 1999 and he contributed to the best practices book “Service Virtualization: Reality is Overrated.”
