Raytheon Nears Agreement on Qatar Missile Sale; Tim Glaeser Comments

Raytheon logoRaytheon (NYSE: RTN) is on the verge of closing a U.S. foreign military sales agreement with Qatar for the Patriot air and missile defense system, Reuters reported Tuesday.

Andrea Shalal-Esa writes the company also expects to finalize an order agreement with Kuwait for additional Patriot fire units before year’s end.

Tim Glaeser, Raytheon vice president for the integrated defense systems business, told Reuters at the Dubai Airshow that demand for the Patriot missiles and associated equipment increased in the Middle East.

Glaeser added Raytheon is finalizing negotiations with Oman for the National Advanced Surface to Air Missile System and that UAE and Saudi Arabia also emerged as potential buyers of that mid-range weapon system.
