Louis Berger to Help FERC Review Energy Projects; Jess Commerford Comments

LouisBergerGroup W-borderThe Louis Berger Group has won a $15 million contract to conduct environmental reviews of non-government hydropower projects for the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.

The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract contains one base year and four option years, Louis Berger said Thursday.

Louis Berger will work with FERC to analyze and document licensing applications and evaluate how projects address requirements under the National Environmental Policy Act.

Jess Commerford, Louis Berger senior vice president of its planning, facilities and resource management business unit, said the company has provided support services to the agency for more than a decade.

The firm will also recommend strategies to protect environmental resources, mitigate potential risks and improve environmental quality.
