Leidos to Assess Cloud Providers Under FedRAMP; Sam Gordy Comments

LeidosLogoLeidos (NYSE: LDOS) has been certified by the General Services Administration and National Institute of Standards and Technology to perform third-party assessments of cloud computing services and products made by companies seeking to provide their tools to agencies.

The company’s accredited testing and evaluation laboratories will work with cloud providers to test security controls, develop security assessment plans and compile security assessment reports in order to help them go through the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program, Leidos said Monday.

Sam Gordy, a Leidos group president, said the company will aim to help agencies and cloud providers build up information security postures.

FedRAMP is intended as a government-wide program for agencies to perform security assessment, authorization and continuous monitoring of cloud tools.

Leidos’ Common Criteria Laboratory and Cryptographic Security and Testing Laboratory test and evaluate the hardware and software of commercial security products used within government systems to protect information.
