Deltek’s Jennifer Sakole: Task Order Contracts Buck Overall Government Spending Trend

cashAs overall U.S. federal agency spending has dipped since 2009, the federal government increased their spend on task orders between that fiscal year and fiscal year 2012, the Washington Post reported Sunday.

Jennifer Sakole, principal research analyst at Deltek, writes the Army represented nearly a quarter of task order contract spending in fiscal 2012.

The Office of the Secretary of Defense increased its task order spending by 87 percent over the last three years, according to Sakole.

The departments of Homeland Security and Health and Human Services’ each spent more than 5 percent of the government’s total task order funding between fiscal 2009 and 2012, according to Sakole.
