Raytheon to Build Navy Aegis Radar Transmitters, Fire Control Equipment for $406M

Raytheon logoRaytheon (NYSE: RTN) has been awarded a multi-year $406, 024, 307 procurement contract to produce radar transmitter groups and missile fire control system equipment for the U.S. Navy.

The Navy is obligating $205, 532, 390 million in fiscal year 2013 shipbuilding and conversion funds at the time of award, the Defense Department said Friday.

The contract covers the Aegis Weapon System AN/SPY-1D(V) radar transmitter group, as well as MK 99 equipment and engineering services.

Raytheon also holds an option for an additional AN/SPY-1D(V) Transmitter Group and certain MFCS MK 99 equipment.

Seventy-eight percent of the work will occur in Sudbury, Mass. with the rest in Canada, Moorestown, N.J. and Norfolk, Va. through September 2019.
