Northrop Wins $143M to Build New Defense Travel Mgmt System Tech; Ed Sturms Comments

northrop Grumman_BLUENorthrop Grumman Corp. (NYSE: NOC) has won a potential $143 million task order from the General Services Administration to continue operating a travel management system used by the Defense Department employees.

This follow-on order falls under the GSA’s Alliant vehicle and contains one base year with four option years, Northrop said Tuesday.

The company will work to add new cybersecurity, business intelligence, mobility and other travel features into the Defense Travel System’s infrastructure.

Ed Sturms, vice president of civil solutions fpr Northrop’s information systems business, said the contract continues the company’s 15 years of work to help run the Pentagon’s travel platform.

DTS processes more than 70 percent of temporary duty travel and handles more than 8 million travel order authorizations and reimibursement vouchers a year, Northrop says.
