L-3 Wins $73M to Build Missile Targets for MDA

L3 logoA division of L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL) has won a $73, 361, 422 contract to develop and build medium-range ballistic missile targets for the U.S. Missile Defense Agency.

MDA received four proposals for the fixed-price-incentive, cost-plus-incentive-fee, cost-plus-fixed-fee and cost-reimbursement contract through a competitive procurement process via FedBizOpps, the Defense Department said Wednesday.

L-3 Coleman Aerospace will work with MDA to analyze missions, prepare and executive launches and manage inventory.

The division will also be responsible for logistics support and engineering services.

MDA is obligating $1 million in fiscal year research, development, test and evaluation funds at the time of award.
