Commerce Dept Awards Public Safety Net Technical Support BPA

LTEGridThe Commerce Department has awarded a $67.2 million blanket purchase agreement to three companies for technical services to support a future nationwide communications network for first responders.

Awardees will compete for task orders to perform work and the department received five proposals for the two-year BPA, the department said in a Sept. 4 FedBizOpps notice.

Information Management Resources,  Redhorse Corp. and Windbourne & Costas won their positions on the BPA to support FirstNet through a competition reserved for service disabled, veteran-owned small businesses.

FirstNet is intended as a nationwide broadband network reserved for emergency personnel.

The awards were made under the General Services Administration‘s Mission Oriented Business Integrated Services Schedule, which covers management and consulting services to federal agencies.
