Bill Lingard Named URS President, George Nash to Head Energy Division; Martin Koffel Comments

URS logoBill Lingard, chief operating officer of URS Corp. (NYSE: URS), will take on the additional role of president of the company and report to Chairman and CEO Martin Koffel.

The appointment is effective immediately and all four company divisions will report directly to Lingard, URS announced Tuesday.

“Bill will continue to work closely with the leadership team to achieve the Company’s operational and strategic goals, ” Koffel said.

URS also promoted George Nash, COO of the energy and construction division, to president of the same organization.

Nash’s appointment takes effect on Jan. 1, 2014 and he will succeed Robert Zaist, who will move into a new role as vice president of corporate initiatives.

Lingard led construction and engineering firm Flint Energy Services Ltd. as president and CEO from 2005 until that company’s sale to URS in May 2012.

He started his career at Halliburton‘s Otis Engineering subsidiary in 1982 and held senior-level positions at Enserco Energy Service and Nabors Drilling Ltd.

Nash, a 30-year energy sector veteran, previously held general manager and executive VP roles within URS’ power business group.
