Richard Guerrieri Appointed Battelle DNA Forensic Research Lead; Mike Dickens Comments

Battelle w:borderRichard Guerrieri, a 30-year forensic laboratory veteran, has joined Battelle as forensic DNA research lead within the identity management group.

Guerrieri will aim to help the Columbus, Ohio-based organization expand its offerings for law enforcement, defense and intelligence customers, Battelle said Thursday.

The human identification scientist spent nearly 20 years with the FBI and the Army Criminal Investigative Laboratory prior to joining Battelle.

Mike Dickens, Battelle general manager of identity management, said Guerrieri will use his technological background in order to help Battelle grow its forensic DNA business.

Battelle’s identity management business unit uses sequencing tools that work to identify and characterize individuals and microbes.

The group develops bioinformatic algorithms and software for translating sequencing data, builds bioinformatic databases and integrates sequencing analysis into the design of biodetection, biosurveillance and biometric devices.
