Accenture Closes Purchase of Healthcare IT Firm ASM Research; Jim Traficant Comments

AccentureAccenture Federal Services (NYSE: ACN) has wrapped up the acquisition of ASM Research for an undisclosed amount in an effort to address the needs of the U.S. military health market.

The Arlington, Va.-based Accenture LLP subsidiary intends for the acquisition to grow its offerings for the departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs as ASM becomes a subsidiary, Accenture said Wednesday.

Jim Traficant, president of ASM and managing director at Accenture Federal Services, said the combination of both companies’ technology, healthcare and systems infrastructure is aimed at fulfilling the government’s healthcare requirements.

Accenture intends to deliver electronic health records, healthcare integration and best practices to customers through ASM Research.

Fairfax, Va.-based ASM provides healthcare IT, information services, data analytics, cloud, data warehousing, human resource management and agile software development to its government clients.
