They will serve as independent board members if elected at Symantec’s annual meeting of stockholders on Oct. 22, the company announced Wednesday.

She has held leadership roles in strategic security, cyber command and space operations during her service in the military.
Previously, Vautrinot earned a National Security Fellowship at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
Sands serves as a group managing director, head of change leadership and an executive committee member at UBS and will be leaving the firm in the coming months.
