SAIC Picked for DHS Undersea Cable Infrastructure Task Order

SAIC Logo_ExecutiveBizThe Department of Homeland Security plans to award Science Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAI) a task order to continue supporting a U.S. undersea cable infrastructure program.

DHS intends to award the company $2, 758, 776 for scientific, engineering and technical assistance services on or about Sept. 23, the department said in a Thursday FedBizOpps notice.

SAIC’s current contract for the UCI program is scheduled to expire Friday and DHS says not extending the work would result in a technical support gap for up to three months.

The company will be responsible for analyzing public network vulnerability, modeling networks, developing communications standards and supporting public safety emergency communications.

According to DHS, the UCI program works to provide the government uninterrupted telecommunications services worldwide for national security and emergency preparedness initiatives.
