Potomac Officers Club Event Featuring DoD CIO Teri Takai is Less than a Month Away

POClogoOn Thursday, September 26 the Potomac Officers Club will hold yet another event in its “headline speakers on headline topics” series when Teri Takai,  assistant secretary of defense for networks and information integration and CIO of the Defense Department, visits 2941 restaurant to speak to industry executives.

Takai is just the latest DoD speaker at a POC event as Army Deputy Chief Information Officer Michael Krieger spoke at a similarly constructed event in March.

Also, Frank Kendall and Robert Hale spoke at the Post-Sequestration Summit in May concerning automatic budget cuts and their long term implications on the federal government and contractors.

Takai is no newcomer to Executive Mosaic as she has previously addressed and attended executive-only events with the media firm.

Teri TakaiAttendees will be provided breakfast by one of the premier restaurants in the Washington D.C. area while listening to insights from Takai. Executives will also have the opportunity to ask her questions after her talk.

“We are thrilled we were able to confirm Ms. Takai as our guest speaker, since many of our POC members have shown high interest in having her participate, ” said Julia Fanning, speaker & event coordinator.

“We are expecting around 100 executives from the government contracting community to attend, ” she added.

In her role, Takai serves as the principal adviser to the defense secretary on matters regarding information management and information technology, spectrum and telecommunications,  non-intelligence space systems, satellite communications, navigation and timing programs.

DCF 1.0Prior to her DoD role, the IT veteran served as CIO to the states of Michigan and California.

Takai also has private sector experience including 30 years at the Ford Motor Company, where she led the development of the company’s strategic IT plan, and technology positions at EDS and Federal-Mogul Corp.

The breakfast event will take place at 2941 Restaurant in Falls Church, Va. from 7-10 A.M.
