lockheed martinLockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has won $206 million in orders from the U.S. Army to produce 19 radars that aim to give troops 360-degree protection from rockets fired indirectly.

The Army has received 32 AN/TPQ-53 counter radars from Lockheed under contracts awarded in July 2008 and April 2010, Lockheed said Monday.

Additionally, the company is working on 33 low-rate initial production units under a contract awarded in March 2012.

Lee Flake, Lockheed director for counterfire target acquisition radar programs, said the company aims for the radar to address operational demands and global threats.

The radars are mounted on a truck and can be operated remotely from laptops or command vehicles, according to the company.
