Christopher P. Cavas writes the project is for 13 low-rate initial production Lot IV aircraft and long-lead parts for 16 full-rate production Lot I aircraft.
Boeing will also provide 13 more mission equipment sets, according to the report.
Work on the new batch of aircraft will take place in Renton, Wash. and is part of a larger order for 117 P-8As, nine LRIP units of which are already with the Naval Air Systems Command.
Boeing completed the P-8A’s initial operational test and evaluation on July 1, Defense News said.
