SAIC to Help Army Office Manage Clinical Research Projects

SAIC Logo_ExecutiveBizScience Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAI) has won a $16 million contract to help the U.S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity manage clinical research projects.

The single-award, firm-fixed-price contract contains one base year and four one-year options for work to support the activity’s enterprise information technology project management office, SAIC said Thursday.

That office works with the Army Medical Research and Materiel Command on clinical studies to develop drugs, vaccines, biologics and devices using software from the Defense Department’s router network.

SAIC will provide management resources to the office for business operations, requirements, product development and support, configuration, database, help desk and training.

Work will occur at Fort Detrick, Md.
