Northrop Wins $617M for 5 E-2D Planes

northrop Grumman_BLUENorthrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) has won a $617, 058, 000 contract modification to build five E-2D Advanced Hawkeye airplanes for the U.S. Navy.

The three-year award completes a previously-awarded advance acquisition contract and covers full rate production lot one, the Defense Department said Wednesday.

All contract funds are being obligated from the Navy’s fiscal 2013 aircraft procurement budget and no funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.

The Navy has received 10 E-2D planes to date and intends to acquire 75 total over the program’s lifespan.
